Collective Impact

Amanda believes in the power of volunteering to learn and grow with peers and leaders.

When Amanda was 18 she experienced a mental health crisis and felt purposeless. Getting involved in the community was a virtuous cycle: it helped her own wellness while paying it forward with the community.

Amanda is a board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and board advisor for Strong 365 and Art with Impact (AWI).

Do you have a program that impacts social change and mental health? Amanda sponsors 2-4 select organizations each year to host on her website, and market through her blog and social media. Amanda's goal is to leverage her network to raise awareness of innovative mental health and social cause programs.

Directing Change about Suicide

The Directing Change Program and Film Contest engages students and young people throughout California to learn about the topics of suicide prevention and mental health in an innovative way: a film contest.

The initiative is part of Each Mind Matters: California’s Mental Health Movement funded by the Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63) and administered by the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA), an organization of county governments working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Amanda serves as a film judge for Directing Change.

Films to Raise Awareness of Mental Health

Art With Impact (AWI) promotes mental wellness by creating space for young people to learn and connect through art and media.

AWI hosts workshops for high schools, colleges and universities, and corporations. Workshop goals are to reduce both internalized- and cultural stigma around mental illness, connect individuals with local mental health resources, and encourage the next generation of filmmakers to use their art to create social change.

Amanda serves as a board advisor, film judge and presenter for AWI.

Strength in Mental Health Challenges

Strong 365 is a community of wellness warriors who believe the strength to persist and thrive through a mental health challenge exists in all of us.

Strong 365 provides resources on "brain health", and uses digital advertising and marketing strategies to promote personal stories of strength and recovery.

Amanda serves as a board advisor, consultant, and filmmaker for Strong 365
